Would you believe Power of Blue-Colored Lighting?

  1. Recently years in Japan, some community and traffic company had installed Blue-Colored Lighting for street lamp or train platform light. .
  2. Why they installed this light their hometown streetlight or platform lighting?
  3. Because, it is believed that Blue-Colored Lighting has power decreasing crime and suicide.
  4. It was said that the first city installed this lamp was Glasgow. It is located in North Scotland and one of biggest cities in the United Kingdom.
  5. In fact, Glasgow had Blue-Colored Lighting installed in their landscape for streetlight. After that number of crime in this area had been decreasing.
  6. In Japan, one of Railway Company installed this in their platform, there were two or three suicide at their station every year, but after installed this they had no suicide at all.
  7. One reason of this result, a blue color has effect to make people be relax and mellow out.
  8. But, some researcher said number of crime or suicide decreased had no other reason but this Blue-Colored Lighting was so rare, so people had away from installed this in area.
  9. I think it is little doubt but that this lamp has some effect of decreasing number of crime and suicide.
  10. And I like another colors such as green, orange, brown and etc. So, there are installed not only Blue-Colored Lighting but also another colored one. It will make person more happy and wonderful!

    Hi Takeshi. Good topic-

    There is a story. About 3years ago, I have been Sappor, Japan. At that time, it's winter and I saw many blue color illumination on the christmas tree.(I went to the Oodori couen) It's so amazing, wonderful and it's little mysterious to me. Because I have not seen lots of blue color illumination in Korea.

    So intersting topic, it's kind of new information that not all people know it. thanks for that.

    It's intersting to know that blue color used for relaxation and also they use it for the people who not eat well. also it used for people who treated psychologic clinic for depression or disapointed. I have read that information in some book about "how to relax?"

    This is a new information for me.
    I think blue color is good for eyes also. It used for the pages of computer or web site a lot of time.

    It's interested me so much~ In my country, I just know that more and more palces use the color of green, as scientists say this color can protect human beings eyesights. I have never been to Japan, so I don't know about it, from you topic O can learn more new information. That's great!

    That is good.
    You know... In my project, that I am doing in master degree, I found I can hide more information in blue color than other main colors RGB (RED and Green). So blue color always has features.

    Blue lighting can reduce crime? Hoho, it's interesting. I know Japan has lots of things interesting, but when i was young i watched a newspaper, it said purple can make people quiet and logos, is that right?

    Wow! That's interesiting. I didin't konw that before, and I misunderstood about blue color. I just know blue color makes people gloomy. Therefore, when we feel depressed, we can explain "I feel blue." It is wonderful that color change something.

    amm .. let me honest with you! .. I don't believe that something like the light or anything else like this can stop the crime! .. Do you really believe in that ? .. Do you think that when the murderer comes to kill someone then he'll see the blue light and run away from that light !?

    sorry I can't believe that but I can say that the number of the crimes had decreased because of the people and how they feel about the light !! .. even it wasn't a light even if it was a music or any thing else .. it depends on how they believe in that !

    I think it is A little DUBIOUS, but * this lamp has some effect of decreasing THE number of crime and suicide.
    And I like OTHER colors, such as green, orange, brown and etc. So, THESE COLORS are ALSO installed, not only Blue-Colored Lighting but also OTHER COLORS *. It will make PEOPLE FEEL HAPPIER and wonderful!

    I AM SURE EACH COLOR HAS A DIFFERENT EFFECT ON PEOPLE'S MIND. HOSPITAL HAS GREEN ON THEIR WALLS TO RELAX PATIENTS. NO ONE WILL CHOOSE PURPLE FOR THAT. I WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN THE SUNLIGHT WAS ALSO BLUE. WILL WE EVER HAVE A PEACEFUL WORLD?
