important of history education

  1. Most of country has their special history and it make their special culture that another country doesn’t have.
  2. Own history is related their social, moral, language, thought and culture. If they lost their history, they would lost own value.
  3. So history education is so important. But these days, middle and high school students are bored history class. They think, history is anti-globalization and not interesting.
  4. Middle and high school students thinks, history is so bored. Because, history class requests to students lots of memorizing. Especially, Korea does that.
  5. Now a days, there are many years and happening in history textbooks. Objectivity is important thing to history, so most of history textbooks do that. But continuous objectivity make students who be bored this lesson. They think, history equal memorizing.
  6. And they think, these days is globalization. If they exceeded learning own history, they are anti-globalization. Because, ethnocentrism make are anti-globalization.
  7. But, globalization is made when we have own culture in the world and accept another country’s culture. If all country were same, globalization would be terrible thing. If country lose their own culture, it meant extinction of their country.
  8. Most of country know that history is important their country. So America has change of nationality examination that has history examination. And China uses their history for a minority race in China. This example show important of history education.But many country that known important of history education doesn’t invest history class. If these days student were adult, this situation would more intensified than now.
  9. Korean historian Eunsic Park said “history is spirits and root of country” When trial happen, country that teach complete their history more endure this suffering than country that doesn’t teach complete their history.
  10. So, history education can’t emphasize its importance much at these days.
  11. I think, student have to learn pride in their history instead of simple knowledge.

    maybe some people don't like the history in school because it is not interesting, but I liked the history when I was in school because the history give us future horizon from the past events. Arabic proverb say "anyone don't have history , he will not have future". So we learn the history for the future.

    Hi Jacob

    For me, I like history . I think enjoying History depend on the teacher.
    I was good student at that because of my teacher.
    You know the teacher can guide you to how memorize things effectively.
    However, After I graduated from the High school I have Know nothing about history .

    BUT, Still I enjoy History and I think it's like my grand mother stories
    you know it's fun even if their is scary and sadness stories.

    Hi Jacob,

    I'm intersted in history because i think history improve my knowlege and makes me think about how was people lived long time ago, but i guess the history in the school is not enough. We should read more about other cultures, styles and traditions. it makes it easy for us to comunicate the other when we have some information about their traditions and cultures
    Also, i agree with Nuha and i have the same idea that she has

    I think the history is very important to people, they can know when the country started grew up.Also, the schools should teach the history to students. for me, I like history but I don't like the test in history.

    Good Job
    I do't like history, and I think there is no exat and true history. The writer of a history use his opinion in the writing and he did not write the exat phenomenon and evens . For example if you make a historical reading for a war between two country, the two side have their historical records of the war, you can note that the each has a different history and recording for the same event, and finally even GOD know which one is the exact history of that even.

    I think history can solve our problems in the present from lessons of the past. Because history is perfect example of present. Also history of present take lots of times and effort as if there is famouse saying "Rome was not built in a day". Therefore I agree Jacob's opinion.

    I think the 10 points in Jocab's topic is the greatest.In my opinion, we should pride of our mather country's history. No matter whether it is a bright side or a dark one, we should face it squarely.
    In the topic, there appears the subject about the culture. To my way of thinking, everyone should have a right understanding of theie own culture. Because each csutome and culture is a wealth for the human beings.

    I agree with you! In fact, in my country, I was interested in history. Learning history also can imporve the comprehensive quality of a person. You would learn some hows and whys from history because history has many people's experiences.

    In fact, I like history very much. The best degree I had when I was in school was in history. Maybe because my father's minor is history. However, I think history classes in schools are important to let the student know about their country.

    yes, I really agree with you. Everyone should learn and know about their countrie's history.
    In china, everyone has to learn the history of china.It's interesting for chinese to know about our past,and I think other coutry obviously do that ,too.
