Homesick

I have been in the US for about two months. Sometimes I am so busy. I like that kind of busy feeling and I do not even want to have a rest, because I will miss my family when I stop. I clearly remember one poem which could best show my feeling now. It was written by one famous Chinese poet – Guangzhong Yu.

Homesick

When I was a child, my homesickness was a small stamp.
I’m here and my mother is there.
When grown up, I remained homesick, but it became a ticket.
I’m here and my bride is there.
Now I’m still homesick, but it is a narrow strait.
Separating me from my homeland.

I am far from home like Yu, although his homesick was because he could not go home.

Maybe homesick is part of life here for every international student. I should get used to it. I am an optimistic girl and I always think things in a simple way. Someone say that is not good, but I like me. The very moment I was in Chicago Airport, I feel lonely. People around me were different from me, our skin, hair, and eyes. I feel homesick.
But as some one said “We should find the interesting part of our lives by ourselves”, I should try to enjoy my life here. I have many good friends here in MSU. I love the quiet life here. The environment is so nice. Maybe I will be here for about two years. So I will try to explore my new life here and I believe studying abroad is smart choice for me.

Importance of Clean Water

Today I will try to take you some information about safe drinking water, I hope you enjoy it.

1-Water is your body's main chemical component; it is making up about 60 percent of your body weight. The human brain is made up of 95% water; blood is 82% and lungs 90%.
2-Every system in your body depends on water. For example, water flushes toxins out of vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and provides a moist environment for ear, nose and throat tissues.
3-Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired.
4- Men consume roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day.
5-Researches show that drinking of three glasses of water 15 minutes, before breakfast can reduce the risks of many cancers, especially colon cancer.
6-According to recent news and reports, most tap and well water in the U.S. are not safe for drinking due to heavy industrial and environmental pollution.
7-To prevent risks of harmful drinking water always use filtered water, according to the existing risks there are many types of filters can be used.
8-Filter systems can remove 90-99% of all contaminants from city and well water to deliver healthy drinking water for you and your family.
9- Drinking clean water can help you live longer. Healthy people who drink adequate levels of clean water generally keep their hydration level up and have a reduced risk of dying from a heart attack in comparison to people who do not drink adequate water.
10- Around the world, 884 million people do not have safe drinking water. Every day, nearly 6,000 people who share our planet die from water-related illnesses.

1- There are several classes in the Institutes or the Universities that have a lot of students, like our class.
2- Some classes have at least 100 students in the university classes or 21 students like in our class, administrators want higher class sizes to reduce the number of teachers in order to reduce the costs.
3- There are several positives and negatives about these classes.
4- There are many students and teachers don't like to be in a class with more than 12 students.
5- Reducing class sizes is important for both teachers and students. The big classes make it more difficult for students to understand the lessons.
6- The teachers have to make sure the students understand the lessons.
7- The teachers cannot help each student on their own because the teachers have limited time every day. This problem needs to be solved.
8- There are some positives in a big class, such as the teachers can make a lot of groups to work together. We can share the ideas among us.
9- We can learn about other cultures, and we can make a lot of friends from different countries.
10- I like this class very much. I hope we enjoy the rest of the summer together.

Extreme Sports~~

1. Nowadays, more and more people are attracted to dangerous sports and other dangerous activities, such as Bungee Jumping, Skydiving, Jungle Adventures, Jet boat rides and so on.
2. Although there are a lot of hazard accompanied with these sports and activities, people are still fond of them.
3. One and the chief reason is that many people are thrill-seekers; they always like to try new objects which produce a sense of excitement.
4. Compare with this kind of people, the others just want to relieve press which comes from the daily life.
5. Therefore, any modern extreme sports should involved with precise control of scientific instruments in order to ensure safety.
6. In my opinion, the challenges, the struggles, the successes, and the giving-ups are all a part of extreme sports.
7. We can’t only pursue the success tenaciously; in a contrary, we should enjoy the process more than the result.
8. There are more and more extreme sports, and some of them requires not only personal ability, but also teamwork spirits.
9. Through these activities, we can challenge ourselves on one hand, on the other hand, we can enhance our personalities, such as the changes on personal psychologic, physiologic and attitude.
10. All in all, extreme sports are not suitable for everyone. ^_^

1. When you are free and have rest time ,what do you do? I think I hear loud voice which said *of course watching movies* , Oh really do you like to watch movies ! what kind of movies do you like scary , sociality or romantic ..etc. How about Cartoons movies ? . Oh I am sorry, You are more older to watch children movie !. Actually I do not agree at all . why ? that is what I'm talking about
2. First of all , I want you all to take deep birth and close your eyes . Fly with your imagination without restricted rules .Just fly as free bird which try to catch the sky. No one can prevent you. Now you can open your eyes , and back to your real life. Would you believe Power of Blue-Colored Lighting?

1. Recently years in Japan, some community and traffic company had installed Blue-Colored Lighting for street lamp or train platform light. .
2. Why they installed this light their hometown streetlight or platform lighting?
3. Because, it is believed that Blue-Colored Lighting has power decreasing crime and suicide.
4. It was said that the first city installed this lamp was Glasgow. It is located in North Scotland and one of biggest cities in the United Kingdom.
5. In fact, Glasgow had Blue-Colored Lighting installed in their landscape for streetlight. After that number of crime in this area had been decreasing.
6. In Japan, one of Railway Company installed this in their platform, there were two or three suicide at their station every year, but after installed this they had no suicide at all.
7. One reason of this result, a blue color has effect to make people be relax and mellow out.
8. But, some researcher said number of crime or suicide decreased had no other reason but this Blue-Colored Lighting was so rare, so people had away from installed this in area.
9. I think it is little doubt but that this lamp has some effect of decreasing number of crime and suicide.
10. And I like another colors such as green, orange, brown and etc. So, there are installed not only Blue-Colored Lighting but also another colored one. It will make person more happy and wonderful!

How to speak English well?

1. English is a common language. If we travel the around world, we are able to communicate in English anywhere. Besides the world become more globalizing. So, from now we have many opportunities to speak English.
2. Now I explain how to speak English well. This is just my opinion.
3. First of all, we become good listener. You know we don’t listen other person’s words, and we can’t understand other saying. For we listen English well, we have a large vocabulary of English.
4. Then, we speak English. For we speak English well, we have to have a confidence. I think what is different between speaking English well and non-speaking English well that is a confidence or a non-confidence.
5. When most of all non English-speaker say English, they are shy because they are afraid of answering wrong questions, but we have to be not afraid of answering wrong questions because we aren’t native speaker of English. And my native language is Korean.
6. If so, how to speak English well? First, we make English-speaker’s friends. It is like that we have many opportunities to speak English.
7. Also we have to read English newspapers, books and so on. We have to watch English movie or TV.
8. When we are poor at English, we use to put captions on TV. Then when we are good at English, we don’t use to captions. And we always practice pronunciation.
9. Even we know the words, we mispronounce words. Other people misunderstand or don’t hear. It is impossible to master English for a few days, and it is important that we have a desperate effort to study English.
10. Sometimes we come back home after we study abroad, and we confuse native language. We have to be careful this.

Let's Lose Weight!

1. There are many people who are heavier than normal people. That is also a serious problem is the U.S.A. "An estimated 97 million adults in the United States are overweight or obese." Is that amazing? However, if you want to lose weight, you should use the right way.

2. Some people think that if you want to lose weight, you need to exercise without food. That does not make sense. It is bad for our health. That will cause more problem, for example, dehydration, undernutrition syndrome and endocrine dyscrasia.

3. In fact, I have ever losen weight for a few months when I was in high school and I succeed. Unforunately, I cannot keep it so I am still heavy.

4. In my opinion, the best way to lose weight is aerobic exercise. Maybe it is not fast enough but it is healthy.

5. Losing weight is also a ordeal for heavy people because it is easy to exercise a week but it is diffcult to do it for a year or more than a year.

6. Perseverance is the most important point for losing weight.

7. Sometimes, losing weight a work for people's lifetime, if they stop it, corpulence will be back.

8. You also need to believe yourself when you want to lose weight. Psychological effect is also a important part.

9. Some people think corpulence is fine. Yes, it is if corpulence does not affect your health condition.

The Effects Of Our Environment Design -by Jin-

1. Design affect our society, especially design affect our communication and emotion.
2. I decorated my white-board in my room to Mondrian Squares and I also made canopy on the ceiling in my room.
3. And then I felt more warmth feeling and tender emotion because of my white-board and I also concentrated my study. In addition, my canopy made me feel more comportable and it made me sleep well.
4. I did not know why I felt this emotion. So I googled that what design's effects. There are some effects.
5. One is research that shows how the design can affect people to communication like Maslow and Mintz did. people generally feel better and do a better job when they are in an attractive place design. So people can do communication better in good design place and they can feel more good emotion
6. Another is a lighting and noise or quiet and comfortable environment that affect people to do communication well. bright lighting and comfortable seat make people happy and free, so people often do their job well and can concentrate better.
7. The last thing is color that affect people to do good communication. The color make people emotion good or bad. A bright color make people happy and active but a dim color make people more passive and down.
8. The canopy and the Squares make me feel more better and they make me more active and bright. This is effects of design. I am major in design in Korea, so I am really interested in design.
9. People can have good emotion and more talktive from design. I made my white-board and canopy. This made me feel better and do my job well. This is effects of design.

important of history education

1. Most of country has their special history and it make their special culture that another country doesn’t have.
2. Own history is related their social, moral, language, thought and culture. If they lost their history, they would lost own value.
3. So history education is so important. But these days, middle and high school students are bored history class. They think, history is anti-globalization and not interesting.
4. Middle and high school students thinks, history is so bored. Because, history class requests to students lots of memorizing. Especially, Korea does that.
5. Now a days, there are many years and happening in history textbooks. Objectivity is important thing to history, so most of history textbooks do that. But continuous objectivity make students who be bored this lesson. They think, history equal memorizing.
6. And they think, these days is globalization. If they exceeded learning own history, they are anti-globalization. Because, ethnocentrism make are anti-globalization.
7. But, globalization is made when we have own culture in the world and accept another country’s culture. If all country were same, globalization would be terrible thing. If country lose their own culture, it meant extinction of their country.
8. Most of country know that history is important their country. So America has change of nationality examination that has history examination. And China uses their history for a minority race in China. This example show important of history education.But many country that known important of history education doesn’t invest history class. If these days student were adult, this situation would more intensified than now.
9. Korean historian Eunsic Park said “history is spirits and root of country” When trial happen, country that teach complete their history more endure this suffering than country that doesn’t teach complete their history.
10. So, history education can’t emphasize its importance much at these days.
11. I think, student have to learn pride in their history instead of simple knowledge.
    
    

Is it better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city

1. Some people said it is better for children to live in the countryside than in a big city.
2. In my opinion, the places where children live in are not the only effect factor, but it is one of the most important effect factors. So as far as I am concerned, living in a big city is better.
3 My arguments for this point are listed as follows. The Primary reason, I think, is that in a big city, the government can provide advanced educational facilities for children. And the city often attracts the best teachers, so they are beneficial for children to get more advanced knowledge.
4 At the same time, children have more opportunities to go abroad as the exchange students with foreign countries.
5. It can help them to widen their horizons. It also can be good for them to practice their thinking and speaking. I think it lays the foundations for their victories of the future.
6.Another reason can be seen by every one is that there are museums, libraries in a big city and operas, stage plays always are performed in a big city . Children can watch them in their spare time to understand other countries’ culture. These cultural facilities not only help children to widen their knowledge, but also make their cultural life flexible. But for children in the countryside, they do not have so many chances like them.
7. Furthermore the living in the city is tensional, so it can help children to adapt to the society earlier. As we know, the best companies of the world often located in the big city, so there is also a wider choice of jobs.
8. However, the countryside offers more relaxed and peaceful way of life, so I think children in countryside can't be familiar with the modern society early.
9. Some people may say in the countryside the air is cleaner, so children are healthier. Are not children in a big city healthy? And in a big city, medical facilities are more complete.
10. From what has been discussed above, I think children living in a big city are better.

The war and its effects

1. There are many wars around the world. The war has many typed such as border war, civil war, ethnic war and religion war.
2. Every war has reasons may be some of these reasons are strong, in the other words, may be some of wars are necessary in some cases but they must have rules and Ethics.
3. Type of the war is different but the effect of the war is the same, so every war has effects such as: Orphans, Displacement and Psychiatric illness.
4. Orphans: This is more important effect which the children became without mom, dad or both. These children will live without someone take care of them.
5. They will live in children Shelters e.g. Palestine children since 1948 but I mean during the last war; Gaza war.
6. Displacement: As result in any wars some people will moved forcibly to another place. They will live in tents without electricity or good food.
7. The greatest displacement on the world is Palestine displacement and Indian American displacement.
8. Psychiatric illness: After finishing the war, it will appear some psychiatric problems at the children if not at all people. As Iraq people, about 15% of them dreams nightmares.
9. These are effects on the people who exist on the battlefield. So there are other effects on the people outside the battlefield as economic problems, the government will spend more money in the war and it will collect extra taxes may be it can spend this money on the people.
10. For example, the economic problems that the USA is faced during Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
11. War effects are many even on the battlefield directly or not. They need many years to treatment. May be the people will forget the effects after many years but the history didn't forget.
