life in the Dorm

1- you can meet alot of people in the dorm for examble native Americans or international students which it help you with your language.

2- there is some good things and some bad things about living in the Dorm first of all you can meet people and you can make friends.

3- there is alot of people who dont live in the Dorm and they are international students so they dont even know how speak as the international student in the Dorm because the one how live in the Dorm he can Daily watch American peoples talking to each other or a friend of him or maybe his roomate.

4- also you can learn about the culture a bout your new friend.

5- if the student were living in the apartment and he can't cook it's going to be hard for him to eat so yes he can order or he go to the resturant but i can't imagine how he will spend alot of money on the food but the opposite thing about the student who live in the dorm he can go to the cafeteria and there is alot of the food that he choose and much cheeper.

6- the disadventage about the Dorms life is that you are sharing the bathrooms with every one in the floor.

7- there is sometimes alot of noise inside the rooms specialy during the weekends.

8- sometimes you will feel bored while you are in the room and most of the night or the day thinking alot about back home or your friends or bitting your nails.

9- the worst thing about living in the dorm is that you have to move every semester and it makes me sick i remembered in the last semester i moved all of my stuff for about 4 hours non stop resting because my room was a desaster.

10- i hope you will to like it because alot of people who choose the apartment inested of the dorm for many reasons and the same thing with the people who lived in the dorm i just gave you about the advantage and the disadvantage about the life in the Dorm.

  1. Hi mubarak
About living in dorms, the only advantgeous is that you may learn and practice English, if your roomate was American. Other than this may be the others are not good and boring.
    Good done
    Thank you

  2. Hi Mubarak!

I don't know students who live in dormitory have to move by semester. It's so busy! I think if my cafeteria makes more Japanese food, it has been so nice. And it's healthy for international students.

    Thank you!

  3. Hi,Mubarak.

    I also feel same opinion.
I think an enviroment which our dorm is lack of privacy.
A beautification of outside such as a park and infrastructure is good,
but dorm's one should improve little more.

    Good topic.
    Thank you!

  4. Salam Mobark

The most important thing is the privacy ,so in my opinion living in dorms is horrible that is because the disadvantages is more than the advantages

also you can meet native American in the university or other places
I think if you really want to learn english very you can do it without live in dorm

    THANKS

  5. Hi Qatar,

    "....biting your nails" hahahaha(LOL).

I had lived in a dorm for one year in Libya. I faced many problem there. some of them that you mentioned and there is many others. Althought every that, I learnt alot of meaning. I learnt sharing, hard life, living with others, etc.

I think the good advice, you'd better to focus on the good things for something when you do it.

  8. Very good topic to share, thanks Mubarak

You're right about what you said. I live in the dorm and I really felt what you said. it's easy to make friends. I'm sure that its help to improve the lanuguage, but you'll lose the privecy. Another thing, that you have to share every thing that you wouldn't like to share like bathroom.

For me , I like to try the dorm at least one semester.

Hope everybody enjoy living in the dorm.

stay away from troubles & enjoy you life.

  9. I agree with you. To live domitory has advantage and disadvantage. The advantage is we can make international friends and we can learn English well. The disadvantage is we misunderstand their culture.

    Thank you~

  10. Hi,Mubarak~

An interesting topic~ I like your writting and i also agree with your opinion! I think we can meet a lot of friends in the dorm. There are two things that I don't like to live in the dorms. One is we should share the bathrooms with each other, and the other is we really feel tired to move dorms! it's a huge remove!!!

    Thank you so much^^

  11. This is the best way to a international student to improve his english, he can absorb American's culture more than live off campus, but i still like to live outside, because i like cook food by myself.
    nice topic

  12. Hey ..

    How're u doing man ? .. I just met you in the cafeteria :P ..

anyway .. great topic man .. people always have different opinion in this thing!

so, my opinion says .. living in the dorm is a good thing for the person who doesn't know how to cook .. who doesn't like to be alone !!

Noha said that the dorm has no privacy that's so true also if you're a muslim girl you'll feel no privacy at all !

I really like your topic Mubarak .. I like the topics whcich we got different opinions in them !

    thanx .. see ya .

  13. Hi Mubarak.

An intersting topic. I live off campus now, however I'll move out to dorm at next semester. Some people say, dorm is not good to live, because you don't have private time and dorm's rate is so expensive than off campus. However, some people say, dorm is good to meet another country student and American. If you live in dorm, your English skill will be increas.

I don't know what is true. However I want to experience dorm's lifee

    Thank you good topic.

  15. Hey Mubarak,
I think you are right,we can make friends easily if we live in the dorm, but sometimes it's uncomfortable, you must consider the feelings of other people if you want to do anything.Luckily, I live in the dorm only in the summer session.

But I think you'd better live in the dorm, you can sleep 15 hours and when you wake up,you can just go to the cafeteria instead of cooking by yourself.(just kidding)

  18. Hi Mubarak!!

    I disageer with you!!
    Already,I leaved from the DOME.
The reason why I leaved from the DOME is the Meal plan which must be required to students who live in DORM is too much expensive.
I paid the mealplan about $900 although I did not want.
That is why I leaved from the DOME.

I HAVE LIVED IN A DORM (NOT THE ONE ATTACHED TO SCHOOL, THOUGH) IN NEW YORK CITY. WE SHARED THE BATHROOM, AND ALSO I NEEDED TO PAY FOR THE MEAL. IT WAS NOT A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE, BUT I WAS ABLE TO MEET MANY PEOPLE FROM MANY COUNTRIES.
